The MIFA Store is now closed.

Despite the best efforts of store staff and MIFA administration, The MIFA Store was unable to overcome the blows of a crippled economy, and declining sales and donations led to the difficult decision to close the store on October 29.

MIFA is dedicated to fiscal responsibility, and, because the thrift store was no longer profitable, we were forced to turn our attention to more effective uses of our donors’ dollars. This new chapter in MIFA’s long life offers us exciting new opportunities in addition to a few challenges. We are grateful for the dedicated employees, Meritan staff, and Project WIT volunteers who made our store run smoothly.

In the absence of The MIFA Store, we ask that you consider giving to MIFA’s partner clothes closets, which are listed here. We also recommend donating your furniture, antiques, collectibles, and art to The Salvation Army.

Attention, MIFA Store donors: The back dock will be closed on Tuesday, June 29. Please bring your donations inside the store!

MIFA Store customers,

It is an absolute pleasure to serve as manager of The MIFA Store. My husband and I recently moved to Memphis from our home state of Iowa, and we are so happy to have found our home here. Previously, I was the director of The Antique Car Museum of Iowa, and I have worked primarily for nonprofits since college. However, The MIFA Store is a wonderful fit for me—I have been a thrift store fanatic since I was 13 years old, and I have plenty of ideas for improving your shopping experience. We have LOTS of new merchandise, and I've had a blast giving the store a makeover. I love meeting our customers and getting your feedback, please stop in and see me!
